About me
Michelle Veroba (she/her/hers) serves as the ELL Student Support Teacher at Brooks Composite High School, where she directs the English Language Learner (ELL) program, drawing on over a decade of experience in supporting culturally and linguistically diverse students. She is actively engaged in a University of Calgary research initiative that examines equity in educational settings, which directly informs her work to cultivate inclusive practices within the Grasslands School Division. In addition to her roles in curriculum and student support, Michelle teaches yoga and English as an Additional Language (EAL) classes, blending mindfulness and language development. Holding a Master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction with a focus on Inclusive Education, Michelle is currently pursuing her PhD at the School of Education, University of Calgary. Her doctoral research and insights from her Alberta Education research on critical literacy support her commitment to creating safe and welcoming learning environments for all students, advancing her role as both an educator and researcher.
