Cultivating Creativity in Teaching & Learning

This 2 hour session (20 participants) includes visual slide presentations, interactive creative projects, and group discussion/reflection. The creative process can be a tool for cross-curricular or subject focused lesson development, creating arts integrated learning projects, understanding student motivation, and guiding students through critical thinking. The workshop provides each person with a utilitarian sketch book and creative materials, to engage in visual experiments to better understand each step of the creative process. No need to consider yourself an artist to attend!

Participants will create their own gemstone tree sculpture using wire and natural pre-drilled gemstones. The design taught in this session is simple enough to use in art class with your students, yet elegant enough to result in a finished piece you will want to display in your home or classroom. SESSION IS FULL!  Come and cure your winter blues with the Botanicals Terrarium Workshop! You will be provided a mini glass terrarium and get to choose your favorite cactus and/or succulents to plant in it. Your workshop instructor will discuss the plants we are using and give you all the tips and tricks on how to care for them, then go through the process step-by-step with you to plant your new creation. You'll then get to choose from a variety of accents and decor to personalize your terrarium and make it unique. All tools and supplies are provided. No green-thumb required!
