Our group will meet in the Cypress Hills, Elkwater, rent equipment if needed, participate in basic instruction, complete a guided trail tour and learn about the options for taking your school/PE classes to experience this fantastic lifelong well activity for students and teachers!! Support from from the Parks staff is also involved, provide information and options available. Bring lunch/drinks for the day and dress for the weather. Join me for an engaging session where I’ll share my journey growing up with trauma, familial instability, and emotional dysregulation, alongside undiagnosed ADHD. I often felt lost and disconnected from teachers who didn’t know how to connect with me, but a few caring educators truly made a difference by taking the time to understand me and recognize my potential. Today’s classrooms are filled with kids facing similar challenges, and if we’re going to have compassion for them, we also need to cultivate compassion for ourselves as educators. Together, we’ll explore how showing interest, recognizing strengths, and fostering a sense of belonging can make a real impact on our students’ lives.

My grade 3 class had the opportunity to be pen pals with students from a small school in Arusha, Tanzania. We were able to share what life is like in rural Alberta and compare it first hand to life in Tanzania. Students created games and videos explaining how to play some of the math and learning games we play in our classroom. Through bake sales, we were able to fund raise enough money to purchase a water reservation system, repair the roof on the school, and purchase a photo copier. I had the opportunity to spend a week in Tanzania, work with the students, and take them games, food, and school supplies. Through personal connection we were able to create authentic learning opportunities.

Please join Just Dance...line dance for a morning of music and dance.  
It's great exercise for your mind, body and soul.

We will go through line dance terminology and basic steps, as well as learn a few beginner dances. We will dance to a variety of music including, rock, pop, 60s, jazz or country.

Please wear comfortable shoes with a sole that allows you to pivot easily.
No sandals, high heels, or open-heeled or toed shoes.

Please bring a water bottle.

Learn the skills of lacrosse and how to implement it in your Physical Education class tomorrow. You will learn how to scoop, cradle. pass, catch and shoot. Participants will learn first hand how to implement lacrosse skills into a variety of games and activities. The session will start with watching a game of lacrosse with an explanation of the rules while it happens. Next it will move into skill developments where participants will experience first hand how to teach each skill. Lastly we will take the skills and run through some modifiable games that utilize the skills of lacrosse but without the contact. All games can be modified for K-12 and you should feel confident to implement them the next day.
